Senior Fellow, Omran Center for Strategic Studies


Danny Al-Baaj is a former Syrian diplomat and a Senior Fellow at the Omran Centre for Strategic Studies. His research focuses on the geopolitical power struggle in the region, negotiation and mediation as well as good governance. He has six years of experience in bilateral as well as multilateral diplomacy, including two years as the Chief cabinet of the Syrian Deputy Foreign minister. Mr. Al-Baaj earned his MA in Diplomatic Studies at The Diplomatic Academy of London, University of Westminster, UK. He obtained a postgraduate Diploma (DESS) in Public International Law and International Relations at Beirut Arab University, Lebanon, and currently completing his Ph.D. on: "The balance of power in the Middle East: was the Syrian foreign policy affective? (1990- 2011)” at the University of Tangier, Morocco.
