Mohamed Al Bdullah is a researcher at the Omran Center for Strategic Studies. He earned a master’s degree in economics, University of Damascus. He served as an employee at Central Bank of Syria (2006-2012). His research interests are concentrated on development economics, economic reconstruction and early recovery in post conflict countries, and refugees economics.
Ayman Aldassouky is a researcher at Omran for Strategic Studies. He is currently a Master student in International Relations at Gazi University. His research is concentrated on governance and local councils, Jihadi Movements, and the relations between states in the Middle East. He previously worked as an executive researcher at Orient Center for International Studies between ‘’2009-2010’’, and a researcher at Sham Center for Research and Studies since its establishment in 2012 until 2014.
Co-Founder, Executive Director of Omran for Strategic Studies, and Board Member of the Syrian Forum. He earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies Interdisciplinary Program, University of California, Los Angeles with subfield focus: political science, history and sociology. His dissertation research was entitled: Syrian Authoritarianism: Persistence or Change. In 2011-2012 he was the Research Manager at the Strategic Research and Communications Center in the United Kingdom. He served as the Chief of Staff to Secretary General of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (2012 –2013). Research work focusses on geopolitical political studies, transitional period comparative studies, local governance, and economic development.
Senior Researcher at Omran for Strategic Studies in the Policies and International Relations Track. He earned his Post Graduate Diploma and Masters in Political Science from the University of Damascus. He worked for 3 years in the Economics Division of Syrian State Security Agency. Prior to his work at Omran, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Media Office of the Syrian National Coalition, Istanbul, Turkey, and a teacher of history at the UNRWA, Damascus, Syria. He worked as a researcher on politics and international relations at Sham Center for Strategic Studies and Research in Damascus between 2011-2013. In 2013, he served as the Head of the Editorial Board at Theka Center for the Study of Public Opinion.
Sasha Al Alou is a researcher at Omran Center for Strategic Studies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Damascus University and Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. His research spans the areas of governance and institutional reform in Syria, social and political structures and their transformation during the Syrian conflict, military and jihadi organizations, and discourse analysis and public opinion studies.
